HIDTA

HIDTA is a High Intensity Drug Trafficking organization supported and funded by the Department of Treasury. I was hired on as a Financial Research Analyst Intern January 19, 2016. As a Financial Research Analyst student volunteer I had to plan and complete work assignments on time, prepare quality draft documents, collect and analyze relevant information, communicate relevant and accurate information clearly and concisely during formal or informal meetings. I collaborated with others to accomplish goals, contribute to team efforts, and use various enterprise tools and technology to prepare and share documents. As a student volunteer I had the opportunity to travel locally with the Internal Revenue Agents to conduct field case audits. I had the opportunity to supplement my education by gaining experience in public service. I gained work experience in the areas of tax law and tax auditing techniques, economics, law enforcement and information technology. I worked side by side with professional Internal Revenue Agents, Computer Audit Specialists, and International Examiners. I completed a special project using a new resource system to help the Internal Revenue Agents stay proactive in providing America’s taxpayers top quality service. I thank my supervisor Rodrick Benton for giving me the opportunity to work side by side with his special agents and gain a work experience that will follow me throughout my career.
